Tales for Naughty Children in the Quebec City region

24 01 2012, 14:59 by Arnold Brookhuis

Tales for Naughty Children returned to the Quebec City region, filling the theatre for a total of nine presentations! It was an occasion to share dance, laughter and songs with the wonderful audiences at Les Gros Becs, presented in collaboration with La Rotonde and the Théâtre de l’Anglicane

Josianne Desloges, a journalist with Le Soleil, explained how the show’s strong point is how it “gets us thinking about human aberrations while charming both our eyes and ears. The show mixes dance, theatre, and singing, and is as funny as it is delightful to watch.”

In a pair of articles, Ms. Desloges also spoke of the impressive work of the performers: “The ensemble cast is a joyful parade that has us holding our breath, and the performers (Mathilde Addy-Laird, Dany Desjardins, Amélie Rajotte and Edward Toledo) do an impressive job of incarnating animals of all kinds. It will be hard to forget the ostrich, which had the whole room rolling on the floor before it ran to the end of the world with a child on its back. Man plays the bad guy, but the child is safe. Does the show moralize? Maybe a bit...but why not? Being full of poetry and mischievousness, the show moralizes in a good way.” - Josianne Desloges, Le Soleil, November 25, 2011
